Vistry gets greenlight for 290-home development

Vistry Group has secured approval for a 290-home development in Keresley, to the north of Coventry.

However, this is less than the group initially hoped for when acquiring the land last year.

Vistry had initially acquired the two plots in September 2023 with a view to building 550 family homes across both sites.

With permission now to develop up to 290 mixed-tenure homes, construction is expected to begin later this summer.

The developer estimates this project will bring over £7.8m of investment in services for the local community. This sum will be delivered via “education, healthcare, highways, biodiversity offsetting measures and parks”.

Adam Sharpe, managing director for Vistry South West Midlands, said: “There is a significant need for new, high-quality, housing across multiple tenures in this area and this is a major step forward in meeting that demand.

“We know that buyers from all walks of life will relish the opportunity to live in modern family homes and to be part of a vibrant and well-connected new community.”
